ZHENGZHOU， May 2 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and another injured in car accidents in Wuzhi county in central China's Henan Province early Monday morning， local authorities confirmed.

A motorcycle crashed into a supporting pillar at a dam in Wuzhi at 1:24 a.m. Monday. The driver died on impact， his pillion passenger was injured， as was a bystander.

Shortly after that， another incident occurred with a car running into a crowd of rescuers who were tending to those injured in the motorcycle accident.
